O2 deals may be smoke and mirrors, you will be paying over £21 a month for a 6GB sim as an example whereas for £20 you can get a 100gb sim without a phone.
There are deals elsewhere that work out cheaper for a XR over 3 years.

All depends upon whether you go down the option of buying the phone upfront in full and cancelling the monthly sim part of the contract within 14 days.

The £21 per month is just a 1 month contract and can be cancelled immediately under the 14 day distance selling rules. A bit academic as they are out of stock now, but mine should arrive today, fingers crossed.! :)

When it arrives my £7/15gig per month BT sim is going into it!

Yes I got one for £329 as well. All the colours seemed to be in stock when I ordered it yesterday morning. The airtime contract is a rolling month by month affair if you pay for the device in full, so as mentioned by vacheron can be cancelled whenever. If other people are after the deal it would be worth keeping a close eye on the O2 website, I wouldn't be surprised if they have held back some more stock for Black Friday itself. Alternatively they've already cut the price of the XS to (a still hefty) £827, but perhaps they will shave a bit more off that next week if they are clearing out their stocks of last year's handsets...

EDIT: The XR is back in stock on the O2 website at £689, so maybe they will cut the price again next week?
