Crazy Exepensive energy prices

Send meter readings at least monthly, and shop around for a better deal when you have an idea of your annual consumption.
If the property is rented, you're probably stuck with a very bad deal: the bills will be huge. E7 is probably not the best solution for a wet electric system because most usage will be at peak rates; see whether single rate would be better. Keep the E7 meter so you can revert back if necessary.
If you've bought the property, see whether there's any possibility of getting mains gas or LPG. Probably unlikely or impractical otherwise it would already have it, but may be worth a try? It'll be expensive, but so is electric CH, and the money would be an investment rather than lost forever. Alternatively, well insulated storage heaters may be an option. If new build, the developer or local authority may have gone for the cheapest infrastructure because they won't have to pay the bills.
Sorry for the blunt news, but you haven't had a good deal. Make sure your next place has GCH !0
