To keep it simple; At the low end, larger capacity is usually faster than smaller capacity and some DRAM is better than no DRAM.
Using that criteria, A.Penny.Saved is the winner!Though I don't approve of their cigarette smoking habit. :money:
Contrary to what some might believe, the brand names would be amongst the worst performers here, for the reasons above.

I have over 45 GB of music files and perhaps 15 to 20 GB of video and still have 16 GB free on my Windows 10 installation on the 111 GB originally available(120 GB SSD)
So I would not be concerned about the usefulness of a 120 GB SSD.0 -
I have 120gb drives in 3 household pc/laptops and win10 together with programs doesnt take up more than 30gb on any of them. I do regular housekeeping cleaning system files.
If you are replacing a larger mechanical drive i would keep that for media/data and just use the smaller ssd for the os and programs making it easier to restore the os in future. No point in having 240gb just for os imo"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0 -
Thanks everyone for the very useful information.
I don't intend to be storing any music, videos, and its really only for a backup device.
The laptop i currently use i fitted a 240gb Crucial SSD a few months ago. It actually had 232gb, and i still have 200gb free.
So i think i will go with the Patriot Burst 120gb SSD.
Also got the RAM upgrade 2x2gb DDR2 as recommended by Everywhere previously.0
