  • What a load of nonsense. Willing to put £100 on the fact he actually suggested the wiring wasn't clipped in properly and thus needed attention in the future - wiggling a stalk won't magically clip wires into place properly!

You should have taken the car to a garage for a proper repair - wipers are critical especially at this time of year, and if something can be fixed by 'wiggling it about a bit' then it's obviously not working as intended.

You're not out of pocket, the part would have broken anyway when it did.
Unfortunately I believe crystal balls haven't been issued to all patrols yet, so I believe they couldn't have seen that the mechanism would completely fail a few days later.

    Is it half term again?

To add, I pay the Premium service at £16 per month. The guy who sold this to me suggested they will seek to repair the vehicle if possible.

I appreciate that the mechanism may have been on the way out anyway, but I'm not the expert, he is, suggesting that my wipers are fine to me would mean that he has identified the issue and solved it. He didn't suggest to me that any further action was needed.

Common sense should have kicked in and the car taken to a garage to get the wiring checked.

Just how do you think a loose connection can be fixed by a bit of jiggling...
