Nice looking Nissan aiming at the US CUV market.
Next Nissan Electric Car Revealed in Patent Filing
The original Nissan LEAF was one of the first pure electric vehicles available to US buyers, and it has remained one of the most successful EVs globally as well. Strangely, Nissan has waited nearly a decade to launch a follow-up act, but the wait seems like it’s nearly over. Yesterday, Cars_secrets posted new images from Japanese patent filings that seem to show the next Nissan electric car, and it’s the spitting image of last year’s the Ariya Concept crossover.

Not quite BEV news, but a good complementary technology to help reach all the corners of a cleaner greener bus service.
Reports: Wrightbus reveals plans to deliver 3,000 hydrogen buses
Plans to decarbonise the UK's bus fleet took a step forward this week, with the submission of plans to manufacture up to 3,000 zero emission hydrogen buses over the next four years.
According to various media reports, Northern Ireland-based Wrightbus, the bus manufacturer acquired last year by JCB heir Jo Bamford, has submitted documents to government detailing how it could scale up manufacture of its hydrogen buses with a view to converting up to 10 per cent of the UK fleet to zero emission models.

Good news from Tesla's release last night of the Q1 results, but what really struck me was that the TMY had been profitable in its first quarter of ramp up. Shows what is possible for BEV's, and hopefully other manufacturers will be able to achieve the same soon (eventually).
Tesla Q1 2020 Update Shares Unexpected Profits
The Model Y also contributed profits and Tesla noted that this was the “first time in our history that a new product has been profitable in its first quarter.”

PEV's close to 10% of sales in Europe in March, roughly 6% BEV's + 4% PHEV's. That's extremely promising, but we'll have to see how the rest of the year goes, especially noting Z's comment about the possibility that PEV's may well have been on long waiting lists, so we may over time also see their sales drop in line with ICEV's until the C19 pandemic reduces.
Tesla Model 3 Reaches #1 In Europe As Europe Reaches 10% Market Share — March 2020
The European passenger plug-in vehicle market had 84,000 registrations in March (+41% year over year/YoY), a great performance considering the effect that several lockdowns across the continent have had. Furthermore, this is while the overall auto market was crashing (-52% YoY), inflating last month’s plug-in vehicle share to an amazing 9.9% (6% fully electric vehicles/BEVs). That pulls the 2020 plug-in vehicle (PEV) share to 7.5% (4.3% for BEVs alone), well above the 3.6% result of 2019.

The cool looking Bollinger will now be available as a skateborad chassis for other uses.
Bollinger Unveils First Class 3 Electric Truck Chassis
As we reported in March, Bollinger Motors says the Class 3 electric truck chassis it developed for its SUV and pickup truck models is ideal for a variety of commercial truck applications. “When we first built our Class 3 B1, we knew there was a commercial aspect to the platform. Not only cab-on-chassis, but entirely new truck bodies can fit on our E-Chassis, and help propel the world to all electric that much faster,” founder Robert Bollinger says.
In the truck world, it is not unusual for a manufacturer to produce a rolling chassis that other companies create bespoke bodies for, which suit the needs of commercial truck buyers who need a cargo van, stake body, airport shuttle, or other vehicle. Back in the day, a modified version of the Ford Model T was used to make tow trucks, oil trucks, tractor trailer rigs, and school buses.Mart. UK BEV sales holding up for now, if we can call a 10% YoY reduction 'holding up', but those sales take BEV's to an incredible 32% of Apr car sales, as the rest of the market has collapsed. Presumably BEV sales will tail off soon too as back orders run out.

Hi AllSo SMMT's analysis of April new vehicle registrations show BEVs having 31.8% market share (1374 units), representing a contraction of only 9.7% over 2019 .... a pretty reasonable result considering the market shrank by 97.3% with total April sales falling from 161064 in 2019 to just 4321 in 2020 .... https://www.smmt.co.uk/vehicle-data/evs-and-afvs-registrations/ .Digging further, as the SMMT tend to be a 'little infantile' and show Tesla sales as 'Other' because they don't pay protection (errr ...) membership fees, it looks like the best selling manufacturer could also be a BEV only marque ... and of course, your guess what the top 3 best selling vehicle were? .... of course ...1 - Tesla Model 3 (658)2 - Jaguar I-Pace (367)3 - Vauxhall Corsa (264)... dominated by electrons - who'd have thought it !!!Z"We are what we repeatedly do, excellence then is not an act, but a habit.
