Are you one of the people who has lost money shorting Tesla shares recently? There are a lot of people who keep predicting their imminent collapse.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.4 -
General consensus on the EV boards is that insurance costs are pretty similar, although as always there are outliers.buglawton said:ill EVs seem to be twice as expensive to insure in the UK, due no doubt to higher repair costs.

My Zoe was 50 quid less than my last ICE (Kia Rio) although I didn't take breakdown cover with the Zoe as it comes with the battery lease. Otherwise it probably would have worked out about the same.silverwhistle said:

When we bought our EV, the insurance was cheaper than for the 7 year old Fiat Panda 1.3 diesel we had.silverwhistle said:

This should be really easy to check. Punch details into a comparison site, then see what happens if you change your car to an EV.8kW (4kW WNW, 4kW SSE) 6kW inverter. 6.5kWh battery.3

Yep. He and AdeC have been posting this stuff for years on the Motoring board EV thread. That's one of the reasons I finally gave up on it and started a thread on here.NigeWick said:

Had you bought shares back in the Summer when I said I had (on thread), you wouldn't now need to 'run' a mile, you'd be able to 'drive' it in style.buglawton said:Tesla is simply trying to sell at the top. Run a mile.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 28kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.
For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.3 -
With two months of insurance remaining on our ten year old Focus when we advised that we needed to cover our new Nissan Leaf instead we received a £58 rebate for the remainder of the years insurance. Can't quite fathom what you are basing your conclusions on!buglawton said:Even run of the mill EVs seem to be twice as expensive to insure in the UK, due no doubt to higher repair costs.

Never touched Tesla stock. Sold my last shares in a US company and won't be buying more - too much paperwork and fiddly to trade.Ectophile said:buglawton said:Tesla is simply trying to sell at the top. Run a mile.
