Superficially seems like a good idea (certainly for breakdown recovery to carry around). However, would it not be better to have a slightly bigger battery in the car and a "reserve tank" in the software.
You're not just a pretty face! The Tesla model 3 has (hides) about 15 to 25 extra miles after it reaches zero in the SR+ and LR models respectively ...... but I'm not sure I'd really want to put it to the test.  :o
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

Cracking BEV figures for Germany in October with 17.1% of sales, and importantly this equals/beats Sept (17%) which included the end of quarter Tesla delivery spike, so this is more of a 'normal' month. Looks like the disruption and possibly Osborne Effect too, is now well established.

Germany’s Plugin EV Share Jumps Above 30% — An Unstoppable Force

Germany, the world’s 5th largest auto market, and Europe’s largest, saw plugin electric vehicles take 30.4% of new sales in October, up almost 1.75× year-on-year. Full electrics grew mostly strongly, up over 2× YoY, taking 17.1% share. The overall auto market was down some 36% from 2019 levels, at 178,683 units.

£800 (if that is the price) seems pretty damn good for a 4kwh battery !
    Bit more info here ....

Very, including the electronics and software! As somebody pointed out on another forum  based on they staff they are trying to recruit this seems very much like vapourware at the moment.. Good idea though, even if I don't see the volumes being massive. A good idea for every garage to have one as well as all recovery vehicles.

Or just charge it during the night on Octopus Go/Agile and export or V2L in the day when prices are much higher....
    I think....

More plug-in vehicles to be registered in 2021 than the whole of the last decade

Businesses have been particularly incentivised to invest in plug-in cars thanks to a range of tax breaks and grants, meaning around two in every three new BEV registrations this year have been for large fleets.

All of these splits have to be treated with caution because the whole market is supply-constrained.

This does show, possibly, that people see PHEV for the limited middle-ground that they are and possibly the worst of both worlds.

The mild hybrid block is also a bit mis-leading as some simple normal petrol / diesel cars are now called mild hybrid but they can't ever run on EV mode (like a full hybrid as pioneered by Toyota).  I am sure some cars are simply "mild hybrid" because the marketing men like it and there is no benefit full stop.

The sales of EV's would probably be higher if you could buy a car first and then happen to choose the EV version.  At present, the decision has to be taken specifically to buy an EV and choose one of the limited models that means.  Think back to the introduction of diesel - you could go out and choose virtually any car and then happen to choose the diesel.  Not so straightforward with the EV choice.
