Hiya SC, looking at that pic, do I take it you've removed the aero covers from the wheels? I like the look of the alloys, but being a tight git, the covers do add about 7% to range (apparently).
I always assumed the aero wheels were simply steel wheels under the hub cap - seems pointless to have smart alloys then hide them behind plastic.  Also seems pointless to remove the aero hub and reduce efficiency.

Obviously, unless you have your own TM3, you won't see this level of detail about the wheels to really know I suppose.

Yup, looks good.  I see the bays already have the obligatory oil patches. I didnt think EVs did that  ;)
I think that is a special feature to make you feel more comfortable adapting from ICE to EV :)

They are just plastic wheel trims and pop on, or off in seconds. Lots of after market storage bags with four compartments so you can keep them in the boot for 'normal' driving, then pop em on for long distance and higher speeds. My question/thought was also because SC has mentioned efficiency.

I'm not 100% sure I like their look for most of the Tesla colours, but I have the midnight silver metallic colour (MSM), and the trims almost look like a colour match, so they go well with the MSM almost by accident.

The UK has held its first ever EV-only track day

Here’s one that should ignite the Internet – last week Tesla performance specialists Tevo Solutions held the UK’s first ever EV-only track day at Llandow Circuit in Wales.

Haha well... I removed them on one side to decide if I like the alloys or the hub caps better.

More public EV charging is great and this looks like a good facility. But I'm not sure how significant the solar contribution is; 210,000 kWh is not much compared with the potential output of 64 EV chargers is it?  (I assume it will also use mains leccy when the batteries run out).  OTOH, net zero is about incremental changes so every little helps.  I assume the battery can be charged off peak too? Just thinking out loud...
I apologise as the pic isn't great, a digital pic of a digital screen... but anyway this is it generating 100KW a couple of weeks ago when I stopped by on the way back from Aberdeen.
At that point it had generated 12000 mwh which is pretty darn good as its not been long open at all.

So combined with the battery pack it was covering all the cars pulling up to charge.
Admittedly there were only a couple on 7kw and 1 on a 22kw though, but 5 cars on the 50kw chargers too.

For me, this is the perfect use of solar, on the canopies supplying a battery so taking the ev loads off the grid when they are used in fits and starts, and the canopies give shelter from the rain and sun while charging.

And this was me parking like a !!!!!! to use the 11kw ac as at the time a leaf was using the 50kw cha de mo in the left hand bay and because Teslas ports are at the side, you can really only reverse into left hand bays as the 50kw and 11kw tethered leads don't stretch the length or width of the car.

Then he left, as did the mach e and the other model 3, leaving me parked like a !!!!!! for what looks like no good reason (there's no other bays to left of pic, so I wasn't obstructing anyone)
You can see the leaf taxi on right of pic also using a 50kw

Good spot, those are the normal car spaces, the kerb in the photo marks the start of the ev chargers

Makes alot of sense that, Llandow is a great wee track with a serious drawback of having neighbours who don't like noise, so leccy track days is a great solution.

It's a wee private track though, not like Anglesey.
I guess Blyton in Gainsborough is probably comparable for you Ken, its the same sort of deal there too.

Grumpy, yeah I was quite surprised when the wee salesman laddie pulled off the hub caps to reveal alloys, and nice 18's too.
It's a strange thing to put caps over alloys.

Martyn yeah I've heard figures of between 5 and 10% efficiency drop without them, and tbh they may go back on, as I think they make the wheels look bigger... or fill the arch better.

However the downside is that I don't find the tm3 brakes inspiring,  and I figure the caps will stop air getting to them, and so extended twisties runs may get interesting with hot rubbish brakes.

Maybe I'll make a decision soon

Sure I saw them rolling along the M74 past Gretna earlier this summer. Currently hanging on the Welcome sign.... :D

I think you captured the essence of the right wing psyche right there.

How is it right wing to point out that long haul flights and diesel cars are inconsistent with Ms Bradbrook's outspoken views as a spokesperson for Extinction Rebellion?  A petrol car and a UK yoga retreat (without the drugs obvs) would not have attracted any comment.  It's similar to Allegra Stratton not having an EV.  Both are naive and should have know better.

I broadly agree with the point I think your quote is trying to make btw.
I think it's clearly the fact that one person once a couple of years having a long haul flight for a medical reason (so she said) isn't the same as multiple flights a month as a business user.
And unless she is also shown to have a 70k salary, I'm not sure it is comparable to ms. Stratton.

But yes, it was the drug reference essentially saying that she was simply one of "those, you know whats" and her drug adled state wouldn't know about anything, which prompted me to respond to your point.

I do agree it would be better if she had a petrol car... but if that's a fairly new diesel that she was sold on the premise of ultra low emissions, then surely you would be looking at the liar rather than the lied to? The manufacturer, not the purchaser?

Just to be clear, I'm no supporter of extinction rebellion, and though I understand their point, I dont agree with their methods.

If "we" know that Ms. Bradbrook is also in a £70k salary, id switch my position entirely.
It's the means to change that makes the difference in my opinion.
Actually it is Dr. Bradbrook and she is a microbiologist. I would imagine she is probably earning above the average wage, unless she is devoting all her time to XR, she probably could afford a used Leaf to get her kids to their rugby matches.
There's a couple of probably's in their and a whole lot of assumption.

As someone who works with rather a lot of PhD doctors,  I can inform you that your assumption is *probably*  incorrect.
The average PhD qualified microbiologist, in the current environment, is too poor to afford a second hand Nissan Leaf? Is that what you're suggesting?

If so, then there is something wrong.

Not something that ER seem to be productive about fixing.

I quite like the idea of pantograph cables on motorways (really, I do) but can't help but think that, after however-many years of "smart motorway" roadworks, another however-many years of contraflows while they fit more overhead gantries won't be popular!
When was the last time that being unpopular stopped them?
