I always assumed the aero wheels were simply steel wheels under the hub cap - seems pointless to have smart alloys then hide them behind plastic. Also seems pointless to remove the aero hub and reduce efficiency.Martyn1981 said:Hiya SC, looking at that pic, do I take it you've removed the aero covers from the wheels? I like the look of the alloys, but being a tight git, the covers do add about 7% to range (apparently).
Obviously, unless you have your own TM3, you won't see this level of detail about the wheels to really know I suppose.shinytop said:Yup, looks good. I see the bays already have the obligatory oil patches. I didnt think EVs did that

I'm not 100% sure I like their look for most of the Tesla colours, but I have the midnight silver metallic colour (MSM), and the trims almost look like a colour match, so they go well with the MSM almost by accident.

The UK has held its first ever EV-only track day
Here’s one that should ignite the Internet – last week Tesla performance specialists Tevo Solutions held the UK’s first ever EV-only track day at Llandow Circuit in Wales.Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kw west facing panels , 3.6 kw east facing), Solis inverters, Solar IBoost water heater, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted Inverter Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner)0 -

But I'm not sure how significant the solar contribution is; 210,000 kWh is not much compared with the potential output of 64 EV chargers is it? (I assume it will also use mains leccy when the batteries run out). OTOH, net zero is about incremental changes so every little helps. I assume the battery can be charged off peak too? Just thinking out loud...
At that point it had generated 12000 mwh which is pretty darn good as its not been long open at all.
So combined with the battery pack it was covering all the cars pulling up to charge.
Admittedly there were only a couple on 7kw and 1 on a 22kw though, but 5 cars on the 50kw chargers too.
For me, this is the perfect use of solar, on the canopies supplying a battery so taking the ev loads off the grid when they are used in fits and starts, and the canopies give shelter from the rain and sun while charging.
And this was me parking like a !!!!!! to use the 11kw ac as at the time a leaf was using the 50kw cha de mo in the left hand bay and because Teslas ports are at the side, you can really only reverse into left hand bays as the 50kw and 11kw tethered leads don't stretch the length or width of the car.
Then he left, as did the mach e and the other model 3, leaving me parked like a !!!!!! for what looks like no good reason (there's no other bays to left of pic, so I wasn't obstructing anyone)
You can see the leaf taxi on right of pic also using a 50kwWest central Scotland

It's a wee private track though, not like Anglesey.
I guess Blyton in Gainsborough is probably comparable for you Ken, its the same sort of deal there too.
Grumpy, yeah I was quite surprised when the wee salesman laddie pulled off the hub caps to reveal alloys, and nice 18's too.
It's a strange thing to put caps over alloys.
Martyn yeah I've heard figures of between 5 and 10% efficiency drop without them, and tbh they may go back on, as I think they make the wheels look bigger... or fill the arch better.
However the downside is that I don't find the tm3 brakes inspiring, and I figure the caps will stop air getting to them, and so extended twisties runs may get interesting with hot rubbish brakes.
Maybe I'll make a decision soonWest central Scotland

I broadly agree with the point I think your quote is trying to make btw.
And unless she is also shown to have a 70k salary, I'm not sure it is comparable to ms. Stratton.
But yes, it was the drug reference essentially saying that she was simply one of "those, you know whats" and her drug adled state wouldn't know about anything, which prompted me to respond to your point.
I do agree it would be better if she had a petrol car... but if that's a fairly new diesel that she was sold on the premise of ultra low emissions, then surely you would be looking at the liar rather than the lied to? The manufacturer, not the purchaser?
Just to be clear, I'm no supporter of extinction rebellion, and though I understand their point, I dont agree with their methods.
If "we" know that Ms. Bradbrook is also in a £70k salary, id switch my position entirely.
It's the means to change that makes the difference in my opinion.
As someone who works with rather a lot of PhD doctors, I can inform you that your assumption is *probably* incorrect.
If so, then there is something wrong.
