Top 20 most searched for used electric cars revealed as Auto Trader predicts EVs to overtake combustion models by 2025

Auto Trader’s also predicts that the wider ‘alternatively fuelled’ car category, which included hybrids, could account for the biggest market share as soon as 2024.

The findings come as the search giant revealed the most searched for electric cars in 2020 – with the list topped by the Nissan Leaf.

Very interesting. This is quite telling though

"Electric car buyers are typically older, 33 per cent are over 55, and more affluent with 33 per cent earning more than £75k a year.

Auto Trader also found electric car buyers live in wealthier areas with the top five postcodes mostly made up of wealthy London boroughs."

And why is nobody looking for Teslas?

The S & X are on the list. So the question I suppose is why isn't the 3. Perhaps it was too new (and expensive sh v's new) to feature highly?

GM planning to increase their BEV sales from the rather flat 20k pa finally.

General Motors announces plan for all-electric lineup by 2035

General Motors has announced it plans to phase out gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles globally by 2035, a dramatic shift by the largest US automaker away from fossil-fuel-powered engines.

GM, which also said it plans to become carbon neutral by 2040, made its announcement just over a week after Joe Biden took office pledging to tackle greenhouse gas emissions and dramatically boost the sales of electric vehicles.

GM sold 2.55m vehicles in the US last year, only about 20,000 of which were electric vehicles (EVs). It said in November it was investing $27bn in electric and autonomous vehicles over the next five years, up from $20bn planned before the coronavirus pandemic.

On their plan, I reckon they'll be out of business by 2030, perhaps sooner.

  • Good news for the UK with the truck below targetted for being built here commencing mid year!

DAF Trucks presents 2nd e-Truck, the LF Electric

Dutch DAF Trucks presents the production version of its second all-electric truck model called LF Electric, which will go into production at Leyland Trucks in the UK in May 2021. The launch follows the revised CF Electric tractor shown a few months ago.
As an option, the new DAF LF Electric is available with a 400V e-PTO for powering auxiliary equipment such as an electric cooling installation or an electro-hydraulic crane.

  • Is there no limit to what EV's can power these days!

Munich Airport runs Goldhofer eTug Phoenix E

Tractor specialist Goldhofer is on a high as they write a second order from a central airport. After Vienna Airport, Munich now too uses a zero-emission aircraft tow tractor by Goldhofer. Model Phoenix E is even stronger than the Bison as it tows large jets weighing up to 350 tons.

Makes you wonder why there are so few EV's that are approved for a tow bar, with the amount of torque available.

ENGIE partners with Premier Inn for nationwide roll-out of rapid charging points

Another hotel chain installing Rapid chargers will be useful. When we were travelling, we always found the Polar chargers at Holiday Inn's and other hotels useful, as most are located close to Motorways or main routes. Also, they usually have penalty charges for overstaying on the charger, which helps free them up quicker once someone is charged up.

I saw a behind the scenes at an airport show probably more than a year ago where the tug driver was learning to use a remote control electric tug for pushback so I don't think this is a new thing, perhaps it is for jumbos?
