Basically big chain vs localish independent - the local ones are quite literally twice the price. Could get the full building survey done by the chain for the price of the homebuyers report. But is there a massive difference in quality? They are both RICS members etc so I’d have thought should be operating to the same standards?
The big company we are looking at is Camsure Homes

Not all surveyors/companies are equal. One company might be using a junior/inexperienced surveyor (cheaper to employ) versus one which is senior surveyor. They both might produce the same result but you can never be sure. Any chance of getting local recommendations?0
