from national grid live it seems we are very close to a record wind energy production today0

Yes, it's been over 16GW since I first checked earlier this morning. Sadly, burning coal to make up for lack of sunshine, though0

Just tipped over the 16.5GW line.0

Im using the iamkate site link which said over 21gw0

Gridwatch only goes up to 20GW. It shows metered, but not embedded, generation.0

There seems quite a discrepancy between the Gridwatch and Drax Electric Insights sites.Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kw west facing panels , 3.6 kw east facing), Solis inverters installed 2018, 5kWp S facing system (shaded in afternoon) added in 2025 with Tesla PW3 battery, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted A2A Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner.0

The embedded generation comes off the total demand on Gridwatch.0

I am seeing 16.9 GW of wind on Gridwatch and 21.24 GW on Electric Insights. Are you saying the difference is embedded generation?Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kw west facing panels , 3.6 kw east facing), Solis inverters installed 2018, 5kWp S facing system (shaded in afternoon) added in 2025 with Tesla PW3 battery, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted A2A Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner.0

I believe so. The embedded generation come off the total demand as it gets absorbed at DNO level (33,000V and below).0

If you hover your cursor over the "wind" dial at https://www.gridwatch.templar.co.uk/ you get a pop-up tip that says (I paraphrase) "there's another 30% from embedded generation that isn't included in this dial".JKenH said:I am seeing 16.9 GW of wind on Gridwatch and 21.24 GW on Electric Insights.
