Broke down after 3 months

I've bought a vw scirocco from a dealership in May and after 3 months the car brokedown, after almost 3 months in service I finally found out that one of the cylinder was skimmed and pressure tested ( my warranty won't pay for servicing because of that ) I already spent around £1000 for recovery and diagnostics only to find out that I need a new engine ( £3000 ).

When I bought the car the engine check light was on but they said they would fix it if I buy the car, and they did, only that after less then a week the light was back on, I took the car back and they "fix it" again, since then the light never came back on but they never told me what was the fault even if I asked several times.

I've never been told that the car had previosly problems with the engine.

Do you actually have a question or are you just telling the story?

Warranty does not usually cover a service .
    Check your warranty terms .

But do you actually mean A Service ??
As in oil and folter change check this and that ??

I think OP means "in the workshop for work" rather than the usual definition of service. That's what I took "after almost 3 months in service" to mean.

Sorry, by service I mean garage !

And I would like to know if I can take it back to the dealership as they sold me a foulty car.

I bought the warranty from the dealership ( £300 ) Premium Warranty for 1 year ( AutoProtect ) but they won't pay for the engine because the cylinder was previously skimmed, fact that I suppose to be informed when I bought the car.

What exactly is wrong with the engine that you need a new one and how many miles has the car done?

I've been told that it was overheated and 1 of the cylinders was skimmed and pressure tested.

All the water is going out on the exhaust and they checked all the obvious parts...egr valve, head gasket etc, I've been told that in order to find out exactly what is the problem I'll have to run several tests on the engine which would be more expensive than a new engine.

I'm not much of an expert but I've been told that somebody did a !!!!!! job on that engine and the best option would be to have a new one. Again, as long as I know, the salesman should have told me that the car had a problem with the engine.

So if 125K miles when bought, suggests it is fairly old. How much did you pay for the car?

You can't just skim one cylinder.. :rotfl: Its the whole head that should have been done.
