Office or Word on iPad Pro

For an iPad the easiest option, I have found, is to use Google Docs/Sheets. As mentioned further up it is free and you just get the appropriate apps in order to create and view documents. There are some other free options too but I have always found them not to be up to the task. Alternatively, you could just get more acquainted with Numbers/Pages, but even though I use Apple products extensively I have never found them very user friendly.

I'm 11" running 13.3 beta from Apple =non developer
Though ios/iPad os 13 versions support usb devices including thumb drives and some external hard drives.
Didn't manage to get my Porsche's lacie 1tb drive working though did buy 64gb usb-C type drive which does work with iPad.

All 2018 and 2019 iPad Pro models come equipped with USB-C ports.

The 2019 iPad Air and iPad mini come with a Lightning-to-USB cable in the box
Think that works for additional storage
