Could be condensation. Nice warm house. Cold spots on the walls, and they'll get damp on the surface.
They don't need to be that cold depending on how warm the house is and what the relative humidity is inside.
Cooking without an extractor, no bathroom extractor, and drying clothes on radiators will make it worse.
