Online/direct conveyancing solicitor

Can anyone recommend an online/direct conveyancing solicitor? We're putting the house on the market next year and I know from past experience that local solicitors aren't the cheapest option. Last time I used Hammond's Direct but I think they've gone out of business since.

Maybe a decent local solicitor isn't cheap for a reason.
Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.

Watch out for a later thread "so I used xyz solicitors as they were cheap and now they don't respond to my calls/I deal with a different person every time/they aren't quick enough"

(but at least they were cheap!!)

That's why I was hoping for recommendations on here from someone who's used one of those conveyancers.

I’m using Muve at the moment. I’m happy with them so far.

Online portal for tracking progress. Account manager who responds to emails and calls. The account manager is based in Sri Lanka. Muve offices are in Richmond.

The point about the guy in Sri Lanka is possibly that he is paid at Sri Lankan rates of pay?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

The account manager is in Sri Lanka. Real Sri Lanka. He manages the chasing and collating if paperwork. He’s my first point of contact. The conveyancer is in Richmond just outside London.

Its one of the rare occasions when I use a recommendation from the related business ie the estate agent which have been reliable local firms. They were both superb - same day turnaround, always available, 'pop in it will be quicker'. Pretty cheap too - local knowledge, same things crop. Online factories weren't really fully a thing 9y ago but I think I'd still do the same now. The mutually beneficial relationships worked well here.

Sometimes you get what you pay for.

I may be old fashioned but I just don't want someone in Sri Lanka collecting documentation in a second language and different laws.
