A schrader valve is a schrader valve. Bike tyres are lower volume but far higher pressure than car tyres.
It might be how much charge it holds, so it could be good for topping up but run out if there's more than that.

I've had no problems with footpumps in 50 years. Of course they wear out but if you are breaking them then you are doing something wrong or buying very cheap pumps. An acceptable quality footpump will still be cheaper than most electric versions.

The seals on the electric ones will wear out too you know, as can the motor.
Oh, it must be my fault then...
The most recent one was a Draper, which is supposed to be a decent brand.

I'm not a great fan of cordless electric tools for precisely that reason. It's surprising the difference between sizes of tyre - my (proper) air compressor will go round the car without issue, but will kick in just doing one tyre on the Landy.

I've taken a van tyre from near flat to 40+psi with a bike track pump quite a few times.

Draper's just rebrand chinese-made pumps. The single-barrel one is poor quality and breaks easily; the double-barrel one is a better buy. The Halfords double-barrel one is OK too.

    Hi all,

Got my eye on a Ring RAC 635 preset digital tyre inflator (see below). Reviews look good and they come highly recommended on many websites (Autocar, Which? etc). I have recently moved into my own home and can no longer rely on the air compressor in my girlfriends dads garage to regularly inflate my tyres. I do like the convenience of doing this at home when the tyres are cold which is why the interest as opposed to just doing it at a petrol station. My girlfriend works in a somewhat rural village and we both encounter plenty of pot holes so I would also like the security of being able to inflate our tyres when at work if necessary.

Anyone own one of the Ring inflators? or have a recommendation for another? Whilst I am sure the likes of Autocar and Which? etc test the pumps fairly thoroughly there is no substitute for the feedback of genuine users who are actually using the product!

    Cheers

Pretty sure I have the same or very similar. Works very well
decent pressure and actually works at a decent pace vs previous ones I have had

Edit. Its the Halfords one I have. However I know I didnt/wouldnt pay that price. Was on offer around the £20 to £25 IIRC
