Portable tyre inflator
Hi all,
Got my eye on a Ring RAC 635 preset digital tyre inflator (see below). Reviews look good and they come highly recommended on many websites (Autocar, Which? etc). I have recently moved into my own home and can no longer rely on the air compressor in my girlfriends dads garage to regularly inflate my tyres. I do like the convenience of doing this at home when the tyres are cold which is why the interest as opposed to just doing it at a petrol station. My girlfriend works in a somewhat rural village and we both encounter plenty of pot holes so I would also like the security of being able to inflate our tyres when at work if necessary.
Anyone own one of the Ring inflators? or have a recommendation for another? Whilst I am sure the likes of Autocar and Which? etc test the pumps fairly thoroughly there is no substitute for the feedback of genuine users who are actually using the product!
Cheers

Why do you need to "regularly inflate" your tyres? Might be worth having a look at why they're regularly needing topping up.0

Got a LIDL one, does what it says on the box, no reviews though.I am not a cat (But my friend is)0

I use that particular Ring model and does what it says on the tin, although there are newer models now.0

I have this £12 cheap one

I didn't get an expensive one as I would probably need it once or twice a year.0 -
Nothing wrong in regularly checking your tyres and adjusting when necessary. Tyre pressures can change on a daily basis depending on the conditions.
Yeah I get that but if they need "regular" topping up that suggests something wrong. I "regularly" check mine but they haven't needed topping up since they were fitted 14 months ago (amazingly).
Anyway, the OP has clarified now so all this is moot.0 -

I would be very surprised, in fact find it unbelievable that your tyre pressures have stayed exactly the same over 14 months.
Pressures may change one or two psi with seasonal changes in temperature, but I wouldn't trust a guage on a cheap 12v buzzyflator to anything approaching that level of accuracy anyway.
If you are adjusting them to that level accuracy, then not only do I hope that you're utterly consistent in what you use to measure the pressures, but I wonder how diligent you are in ensuring their temperature is consistent between checks?0
