Hi,
We are currently about to sell our home to move closer to work. https://www.convey365.com seem EXTREMELY competitive when it comes to conveyancing. We're buying at 124950 and selling at 121000 and their fees are £615. I can find nothing on the internet so was wondering if anyone had heard of them or has dealt with them previously?
Cost is an important factor but obviously, it's more important that everything goes correctly and quickly.
I would appreciate any input,
cheers
Dan

cheers,
Don't suppose there are any reasonably priced recommended Conveyancers (sp?) around?

Ignore my post. I saw your thread as a non to subtle spam advert. Looks like I may have got it wrong
I think you should take www.convey365.com out of the thread title.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
doh! Never thought of that! I'll try and edit it. This is however a serious enquiry and of course, if anyone has any recommendations I'd still like to hear them!
Cheers
Dan
<edit>Don't think I can edit the title, any Mods, could you please change to 'Recommend a Conveyancer'. Many thanks</edit>0 -

Sometimes they add on a lot of extras. Hammonds direct was recommended to me by a family member. Initially it looked cheap, but by the time they had added on all the 'extras' it came out almost exactly the same as all my local firms.
www.conveyancingwarehouse.co.uk is the one that many people have used on this site and the feedback is pretty much all good. I'm going to give them a go myself soon. I had started but my sale fell through.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

thanks, I'll take a look0

Try the Yorkshire Building Society website.
http://www.ybs.co.uk/conveyancing/index.jsp
It has a number of independants on there and also reviews which is very helpful
I phoned a couple of my local firms to gauge the pricing and the ybs site came out cheaper both times.

as it goes thats who our mortgage is with
The estate agents that are dealing with the property we're buying have recommended one that they like to deal with and their quote is competitive so I'm edging toward just going with them.
Thanks for your help everyone0 -

Well, I've just been on their site and put in the same figures and the bottom line on the main part of the quote is £512.70 - cheaper than OP says, BUT...
Look down below and you see that they charge another £95 if there is a mortgage on the purchase and £95 if there is a mortgage to discharge on the sale plus VAT - sot that's another £190 for most people - there is a £39 + vat Bank Transfer Fee (and you will have a t least one, if not two of those) and £50-£100+vat for completing the SDLT Form.
It also says: "This Legal Costs Estimate must be read in conjunction with our Panel Lawyers Terms and Conditions of Instruction." You have to check to make sure they haven't included some more extras.RICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0 -
our mortgage advisor has got us a quote from cheesman and co for £550. I think it's part of a network (econveyancing, i think) which mortgage advisors and other financial people have access to.
I spoke to my MA about how quickly they are going to get things done etc and he said to be part of the referral network they have to maintain certain standards.
Everything seems ok, so we are going to go with them.0
