I read that more youngsters prefer socialism to capitalism. Corbyn is a socialist.
With myself and many on here investing in stocks/funds, do you think socialism could wipe out the stock market completely? It is a worry of mines as I'm relatively young so theres plenty of time for it to happen.

No.
Brexit would be far more damaging to the wealth of the UK. Fortunately, it has not happened yet and, if Labour gain power, it may be avoided altogether.
Remember, people need no incentive to be greedy, we are born greedy and some die greedy.
Don't be gulled by the scaremongering of the useful idiots of tax-avoiding billionaires.0 -
Tories aren't pro business either, remember Johnson's anti business tirade?
As posted above, biggest risk to UK investments is Brexit0 -

"The" stock market ? Did you mean the UK stock market ? 5% of the world economy or less.
If yiu are worried about that as an investor, then don't invest in it0 -
Dairy Queen will be along in a minute.0

Corbyn hasn’t a hope in hell. Worry not.0

The FTSE 100 is full of international based business. It's the FTSE 250 companies that'll be biggest hit by Corbyn's suggested policies of nationalisation and share stealing. This will have a very big impact on share prices and a large knock on effect to everyones pensions. Especially if exchange controls are brought in.
These policies will make Brexit look like a tea party in terms of economic damage.
The Stock Exchange wont collapse but may fall a sizeable amount.0 -
It will have !!!!!! all effect on my pension and any other sensible person who hasn't got more than a small amount in the U.K.0

The UK had a far stronger socialist base under the 1945-51 labour government and under the subsequent conervative government than now or would be the case under Jeremy Corbyn. To see him as a fervent socialist is I think a mistake, perhaps rather more a radical liberal focussing on a range of moral issues but without a strong underlying political philosophy.
Its rather sad to see the poverty of exposure to political ideas apparent in so many people born after the 1960s. They are told that socialism is a serious danger but appear to have little understanding what it is nor realise that many of the things we take for granted in our society were socialist ideas implemented by the Attlee gvernment.0 -
A better question might be to ask if a future Tory government would complete Thatcher's project and get rid of what's left of socialism in the UK economy...I'm mainly thinking of how the NHS is structured. It looks like austerity and management has done a job on the operation of the NHS and all that needs to happen now if for someone to come up with a plan to "save it" by selling bits off and charging fees at point of service...job done.“So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”0
