Is anyone else having problems. I posted several parcels last Monday to various addresses throughout the UK, but none have arrived with the buyer yet. All were sent recorded first class, but checking on their website, none have been delivered. I've asked the local PO and the sorting office, but both claim that there is nothing wrong at the moment (but then again they aren't entirely honest at the best of times!). Anyone else having problems?
Hi, I sent an envelope 1st Rec Delivery on 15th Nov and I am having the same problem as you. The last time this happened to me, the item turned up back on my doorstep 3 weeks later!

fair point.especially given the new speed restrictions( the given reason for late starts) are not law right now!

oh as for the abuse of staff at the door.its ongoing and has been for a long time.
verbal and up to physical.someone in my office was spat at not so long ago.
i can tell you anyone who did that to me would see the error of their ways soon after :)

a few weeks ago i had a woman screaming at me,than crying as Ihad lost her package.she even pointed to the sign you mention and said no wonder you get abuse with idiots like you working here
after spending 30 minutes speaking to her, making enquiries and calling the company she was expecting the parcel from.
i then found out it was going by parcelforce and tracked as being held at the parcelforce office.no apology or thanks.she just walked out of the office

aah the general public, don't know how I lasted in my shop for 7 years (especially since I was in charge most of the time and always had the complaints directed to me to sort out as the staff were either too scared or the customer wouldn't believe what they were saying!)!!!! I've had some right rare people in my time! (and I am only nearly 26!)!! There was one lady who rang to complain at head office to say that she was stood on one side of my shop looking like she needed help and as I turned round from where I was pricing up some sale things I ignored her. I was turning around to make sure no one was waiting at the till that I was ignoring, plus she was on the other side of the shop!! what's wrong with her saying excuse me or perhaps standing nearer to me "looking like she needed help"!!! that was one of the tamer ones!!

Don't they realise that if they are polite then you are far more willing to help than if they go in with all guns blazing??! people in this country need to learn some manners!!

I'm quite pleased with our post at the moment -maybe it has something to do with our lovely postie, not so sure - but yes - I had some second class mail the day after it was posted (friday - turned up saturday). Very impressed - first time I've said that in a while.

ive been monitoring dates on franked items lately.
all seems normal with 1st class generally being next day
    standard packets 1-2 days

the main issue is with walks not being covered and backlogs on van duties delivering larger packets

Posted 2 parcels to different addresses in England, one Thursday 22nd, the other Saturday 24th, both 2nd class recorded and neither seems to have arrived yet, unless the Track & Trace system at royalmail.com is in difficulties. Post seems to get here okay though! There is a message on the website to the effect that there are some delays. It's a real pain!

I have sent several items by first class recorded delivery recently. The delivery times have varied from next day to up to 10 days. All supposedly going first class. My local post office says it is because postie has to get a signature. In contrast everything sent by standard parcelforce has arrived next day!!
