    So it's either pathetic, in which case you'll switch away, or it's not, and you'll stay.

    Santander have already been burnt when they chopped the 123 account benefits first time round. The only reason Lite came around was to reduce the churn rate as before those changes the regular 123 account wiped the floor with the rest of the market.

    I dare say they will think twice before altering it again, especially as after the Natwest changes it will once again be the only account of its type on the market.

    I'd say it's a distinct possibility that the opposite would apply - many businesses would see the demise of their primary competitor's offering as an opportunity to exploit a new monopoly position....
