It could be that in the future it is necessary to build an additional nuclear power station to meet peak demand, particularly between 4 pm and 7 pm. Consumers without smart meter could be charged a £200 per year supplement whereas consumers with a smart meter could pay a punitive tariff to use their electricity during peak hours. Consumers with a smart meter could avoid charging cars and using washing machines and tumble dryers during peaks times to save money. Consumers without a smart meter could do what they liked but would pay the supplement.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon.
