I rang my suppler today & asked for a better deal which is Boost Energy & was told Boost only do one so are unable to offer me one, they treat customers like dirt, by keep changing the company name. When I joined them under OVO energy is was fine but they quickly changed people on prepayment we were moved to Boost Power we are now Boost energy & to get round the price cap they are going to change there name yet again to BOOST SMART. it seems they don't like there Boost customers & just palm us of with not important
PAYG tariffs are generally quite a bit more expensive than standard tariffs. Is there any possibility of you changing to a standard meter to save yourself some money?

  • I changed over from Outfox the Market to Eon back in October, and have just had my first bill from Eon (they only bill quarterly rather than monthly)  However I've noticed the OTM charged me their daily charge upto and including the final day of their supply and Eon have also levied the daily charge starting from the same day. I know it's only one day every year or so or when I change supplier, but is it right that they both claim they supplied me on the same day?  I guess it depends what time the change over is deemed to have occurred. but it doesn't seem fair to me.

    No, it is not.
The new supplier is responsible for all aspects of the switch so you should contact them to sort it out.

is it really worth it for 20p?
  • is it really worth it for 20p?
It's a small amount, but maybe it's happening hundreds of times over, and people are not realising, and that's just not right or fair.
  • We have just changed from eon to bulb who are now going to be no cheaper than eon 🙄
  • Had an 'interesting' online discussion with a CSA at my existing supplier (So Energy), who has assured me (more than once) that the renewal quote I am being offered at £80/month is a much better deal than my current one, where I am paying £160/month.  I have pointed out that the direct debit amount is irrelevant - what matters are the unit rates for energy supplies and projected usage.  If I renew at £80 a month, I'll soon be in deep debt (by my calculation, my monthly DD needs to be around £125/month, based on actual consumption).  He just couldn't get his head around that at all ...

You have to wonder where they got the £80pm figure from. Unless you have a significant credit balance on your account.

or it's a seasonally adjusted DD - so £80 pm over summer but cranks up over winter ...
So offered both fixed or seasonally adjusted options when I was with them last year
