AFAIK there is no such thing as a perpetual office 365 license by definition.
The two terms are mutually exclusive ..

You can still get of course a 'boxed copy' of 2019, which for all intents and purposes is everything that 365 offers, just without all the cloudy stuff and continuous updates.

I am sure that I stated earlier that I won't be discussing it here. I wrote that I investigated it and have nothing it add other than sal_III's post being conjecture, without actual knowledge.

I'm repeating it because it's a fact. Based on Microsoft licensing practices/policy, there is no perpetual license for Office 365, its a subscription service.

Sure my claim that the ebay offers in question are scams is conjecture. Based on the above fact, the fact that all sellers are new with little/no feedback and the simple principle of "if it's too good to be true, its' probably isn't". As i'm not going to waste money proving it's also a fact.

You are still refusing to post facts of your "investigation" that would prove that there is such a thing as a perpetual O365 license, as "you don't wish to add fuel to the fire.", yet you keep commenting and trowing unsubstantiated claims.

Your post is based on your limited knowledge. Based on that fact, I will state that you do not know about what you are writing.
Let's just leave it at that. I know what they are doing and you do not. That is a fact.

There are few people here who know of my history, who would imagine that I didn't know about what I write.
I don't need to prove anything to you. If you want to know, find out for yourself. Untill then, you should refrain from comment.
Post when you know. Otherwise, you are just guessing.

Is that so... Interesting, interesting. I guess it's my word against yours.

Please enlighten us, isn't that what this forum is for?

It's impossible to prove a negative - like something that doesn't exist (like perpetual O365 licenses.) So I can't offer any proof, beyond that it's not on the MS website and I haven't seen or heard about it in my 20 years in IT mostly focused on MS stack and about a dozen certificates from MS in my name.

It's easy to prove a positive - like something that does exists. So if there are perpetual O365 licenses, where is your proof?

Laptop for secondary school use is the title of the thread. So if you don't desist from posting off-topic, you will be reported for Trolling.

No one has to take either of our words for it.
But no one looking for a laptop for secondary school should have to wade through your nonsense.

Indeed yes - i forgot about that. £50 off for a new customer.

The 8GB RAM helps it, though clearly the one in post #3 could have the RAM upgraded.

I think thats a cracking machine for that sort of money.

The oldest of the three laptops i have is an i5 320 that i've upgraded to 8GB RAM and a 250GB SSD. Tempted to go for this new 330S to replace it. Though the 320 is giving no trouble and fit for its intended purpose. Better screen on the 330S though.
    Decisions....

The £50 saved could be used to extend the warranty to a 3yr (five business day) on-site. Perhaps useful for students to have extended remote support.

I don't care if you are discussing it or not . You made a comment and I am responding to it.
If you have 'investigated' then you too will know that these licenses don't exist.

Don't give me all that carp about people knowing your history etc - that wont wash here, I know what im talking about, I don't need to quote my CV.

The way in which these 'perpetual licenses' on ebay are sold is just a trick.
They don't send you a license, they send you a username and password to log into the 365 portal.
You cant choose your own username, or your own email address, you log in using one that they provide.

Where these come from is various sources, but NONE of them are going to last very long.

Please note, like you - I am not entering into an argument about this, because it is fact and I am simply stating that fact - all your cloak and dagger to make yourself seem more knowledgeable really isn't working - infact its proving the opposite

Never mind £6 on ebay or whatever, the fact is that these licenses don't exist full stop - for any amount of money

It also asks for Office applciation

Doing a bit of research i don't think he needs anything too flash but something with reasonable memory and office applications would be useful.
I have already made my suggestions on the main topic, then someone posted what I suspect is a scam offering on e-bay, so I thought it would be prudent to post again and worn readers about it.

If anyone is trolling it's you, defending what by all accounts looks like a scam, yet providing zero evidence of your claims, that perpetual office 365 licenses exist.

It's a free world/forum, feel free to report any of my posts if you believe they are inappropriate

    What you wrote was;
I can't tell exactly how it works, nor do I have the time to try and investigate. From first glance reading the terms it looks like you are getting an account attached to a domain/company operated by the seller, you will likely receive a trial account/key that will work just long enough to leave positive review on e-bay, until it bombs. Then the seller will create a new account, rinse and repeat.

The part in bold is the only part of your statement that was accurate. The rest of your statement is/was entirely fictional.

So if you don't know how it works and won't take the time to investigate, then you should admit that your views are purely conjecture.

I don't understand why you feel the need to disagree. If you admit that you don't know, that is an admission that you are guessing.

The difference between us, is that I know, because I did take the time to investigate it. I also choose to not share the information with you.

So I can state categorically, that your statement is entirely made up and inaccurate.

That's it. You have had your say and I had mine.

    Let's move on.

It really looks as if you are arguing, contrary to your assertion on the other thread.

How much would you like to bet that the licence exists? Put £1000 to charity where your mouth is and I'll PM you the details.
I doubt that you have the integrity to pay up.
Otherwise, thanks for your wordy post, but I won't be reading it, since I know of what I am writing and you are just throwing mud and hoping that it will stick.

How about you leave the thread for people who looking for laptops for secondary schools students?

No one other than yourself and sal_III is interested in your hijacking of the thread.
