  • Id rather take the first option if the risk is less than the second, however could ECP then tell me to revert back to DRP letter or would they cancel it and take matters up with me directly?

Assuming they do deal direct with me, do i then start the process of letter from sticky thread or ask for proof of duration in the carpark. As mentioned in my original post, I got out of the car to see the parking charges and then noticed the other parking area over the road, does "grace period" not apply in this case?

Likewise if i emailed DRP could I ask for proof?

Have either company taken things further or known to give up.

If DRP refer your case back to ECP, they lose all prospect of earning anything from your PCN (no win, no fee contract), so they won't rush.

There are times when DRP do give up on a pursuit and pass cases back to their client. The record shows that in the case of ECP, nothing further happens.

Our advice with all debt collectors is to ignore them. You're too far down the road now to start engaging with ECP.

I refer you back to my posts #3 and #5 above - the advice in which has not changed overnight!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Had another letter from DRP - looks like they are being kind and offering a "reduced settlement"...

My V5C is updated and new one delivered to me, i have contact my old address and asked them to keep any letters for me. I will do the same as before, wait for a letter from ECP and ignore DRP.

Letter from DRP is as follows:

Final, settlement offer of £*** to avoid court action
We refer to out letter dated **/**/***. As you didn't pay what you owe, we recommended to our client that they appoint their solicitor to start court action against you.

When taking any court action, out client must demonstrate that they have done as much as possible to settle this matter. This is known as 'pre-action protocol'. As part of this our client has previously told us that if you want to settle this matter once and for all, they're willing to accept £*** instead of the full amount of £***.

If you haven't paid the reduced amount by **/**/***, our client will withdraw the offer. This means that the amount due will go back to the full amount of £*** and our client will consider taking action against you for non-payment on that full amount.

No need to show us, thanks, we've seen enough of the DRP template begging letters, and Zenith threatograms - spare us!

Talking of Zenith... just had a letter off them with the same filth, is it common practice to cancel one dept collector for another?
