I thought maybe Covid has played a part and maybe they have missed this one. But am grateful it's not going further.
I hadn't considered a claim against them... interesting! In terms of actual costs, I think posting my defence to CEL was my only expense, but I have no idea how many hours (has been many many evenings!) of reading through threads on here, writing defence etc. but not sure how I would calculate a figure. I'm just thankful it's over - I'm not sure I have the energy to put more time into it, but I will read through and have a think - thank you for the link. Are there cases of CEL or others paying anything out based on a letter before small claims, or would I have to follow it through to get anything out of them?

You cannot make a new claim in the county court based on your costs from this claim. That would be an abuse of process.
Think of
- harassment
- DPA breach
- etc .4 -
Yay! ANOTHER CEL ONE BITES THE DUST!
Keep the paper work this year in case CEL come back after lockdown and prove they did pay and the court mislaid or misfiled the payment (has happened).
Assume you have won, but no throwing away your file!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
