I have read on a few threads about submitting an amendment to a defence and having to fill out a form and pay a fee.
That form, and fee, is only to seek permission to amend your Defence.

In this case the court has already given that permission.

Notice of Trial Date received for 18th May.  The court where the trial is taking place is not listed as open, but not listed as suspended currently.  The claimant has until 20th Apr to pay the £25 court trial fee and I have to deliver to the other party and to the court copies of all documents 14 days before the hearing - with no access to a printer, will email be acceptable in this circumstance?

So looks like it's time to prepare my witness statement and evidence.  I will draft and share on here shortly and would appreciate your advice.

On no account agree to anything other than a face to face hearing.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

    1) Re email - no, do not use email for the court. They cannot be relied upon to print all documents for you. You will have to use a printing service, yes this costs, but tough. Thats the situation. Hand delvier in a ring binder, neatly divided tabbed etc.
FOr claimant  - you can only email IF THEY AGREE. Have they emailed YOU any COURT docs, such as the DQ? If not then ask them explicitly if they will accept service via email. YOU MUST do this.

I've just called the court to enquire whether the trial fee is paid (the deadline was yesterday).  It hasn't, but they said they are being more lenient due to current circumstances, so to call back in a week.  I was hoping for good news and that I wouldn't even need to start on my witness statement, but I'd better get on this, as need to email it by 4th May, so if I wait till next week I'll only have a week.

I've been following Coupon-Mad's thread re. telephone hearings and the new advice around this, which is very helpful.

Can't for the life of me find an email address for CEL, except for the data protection officer one. I'm loathed to call them to discuss emailing my docs to them, plus I want something traceable. Anyone have an email address to use?  I might wait a week until I know they have paid up...!

Can't for the life of me find an email address for CEL,
Even though it's been posted here loads of times and I saw it posted again, only yesterday in a thread?  Something @ce-service.co.uk  I seem to recall!

     Legal@?  Litigation@? office@?

     @BrownTrout will know.

You need to be sending the stuff by email now, as the advice has changed to what is now stated in the Telephone Hearings thread.  Same as this one and a dozen others like it, I keep posting the same things at the moment:

That is your stage too, so look at the other similar threads I linked there and crack on with your DRAFT ORDER and everything (including your original defence, because a suspended court will not have access to the case file at all).  This is all to be submitted to the court and CEL by email to seize the upper hand NOW and hope for a strike out.

It is dataprotectionofficer@ce-service.co.uk  Why use initials when three long words will suffice?

Lekirk - they were looking for an email address to serve papers on, so the DPO address may not suffice.

OK, you are right, I just picked it up as that because someone was looking for DPO at CE yesterday.  They don't seem to like publicising their e-mail address but searching the forum, I came across this one posted by KeithP via Brown Trout in January: -
