Yes there is a folder with my phones name when connected to my PC, but when I click on the folder in file explorer nothing appears on the screen What are the possible reasons for this please.0

You need to swipe down from the top on your phone to see the notifications, and then follow the one that talks about USB ... enable File Sharing - which may well be labelled MTP. Once this is done you'll be able to see your phone contents.

Have to allow connection to PC - usually by acting on the connection notification.0
