iPhone Data Recovery

Options
Hi,

I have an iPhone 6S Plus 16GB and would like to recover my call history and messages from 2016 & 2017.

I’ve looked online and there are various pieces of software that you can buy and I’ve done the odd trial with varying degrees of success.

I’m looking for recommendations for software and also professional recovery companies at a reasonable price I’m looking in Nottingham ideally.

Thanks.

For call history if the phone's already been reset you may find its not possible to recover the call history. That's normally kept in the software and its settings and doesn't sit as a "file" as such to be recovered.

The software you've seen is probably more to do with recovering photos than anything else.

I’m not sure what you mean by reset? I’ve not restored to factory settings at any point if that’s what you mean.

Not completely sure what you're wanting to do, but... If you've deleted a message and then received another, the new one has overwritten the memory that the deleted message was stored in. So there is nothing to recover. Once the memory is overwritten with new data the old data is gone.

As for call history, if you're on a contract then your billing info for the dates you want should give you most of the info you're looking for.

All networks have all billing data from the day you start your contract.
The front line agents may not have access to it, but you can request it from the network. You might have to do a subject access request in which case there's a £10 fee. But I'd call the billing dept and ask to talk to a team leader or supervisor (whichever they have) and ask them. They will have a broader access to the billing systems...

Not any longer. The £10 fee for a SAR was abolished with the introduction of the GDPR.

Except for particularly complex or onerous cases. What the OP would ask for would not, however, fall into that category, so your advice would stand. :)

You'll get copies of whatever was on you bills. It will have calls and the amount of data you used. It won't have copies of any messages or website that you used.

I’ve just had an email from the subject access request team at o2 saying that all bills are automatically and permanently deleted after 24 months as per their data retention policy. It doesn’t sound right to me though what do you guys think?
