  • Appreciate the response coupon-mad. I will submit a SAR to them to see what they hold and then consider my options from there.

I would certainly be pushing back to the gym on this.
I would be 'caught' every time I used my gym with a 90 minute restriction, meaning I couldnt be a member.
    So they lose business.

That depends on whether the gym own the car park or not. Many gyms don't so won't have control over length of parking. We use a public car park that is a minute or two away and a lot of the other local ones are at our out of town shopping centre where there is a communal car park.

90 minutes is short and does suggest that the gym may not own the car park (I am probably wrong though!). We get three hours and that is not be long enough, still, for some - as we have a spa where folks go after a class or two.

    Totally get that.
However I expect the car park is connected to them, the land owner or someone with an interest in business, rents etc.
If its out of their control then they need to be clear to members about it.

    Sure

Doubt they'd have much influence, though.

As I say ours is council run with many other users. The three hour free is a (very good) concession that may well be a knock on from the fact that the council used to own the gym.

The out of town one has (I think) some time limits but there are a lot of businesses there apart from the gyms. I guess there may be some sort of shop user group - but there will be all sorts of views on parking times

Agree they should make it clear. Ours does and we all know - and accept that the "power" lies with the council for parking.
