  • Any additional things to consider, or have I covered everything for this next phase? Looking to send the relevant correspondence today if someone could kindly give it the rubber stamp. Thanks.
  • Just find the DPOs contact and email it directly. Then you know its gotten to the rifght person then
You require all data they hold about you, including any breakdown of an alleged "loss" incurred by the uni.

Tell Gladstones to delay as you are "seeking debt advice", and you require they restrict processing for 30 days.

You follow post 2, and follow precisely what you are told to do there, when / if you get get court papers.

Did you deny the debt etc, as you also do as per post 2? You also use the chance to require them to send you copies of docuemnts - they dont yet have them, and doing so wipes their profit out on this claim.
  • I honestly thought that part was no longer relevant, as in my 'from the heart' complaint to them it involves an explanation of why I was there and what I was doing.

How do I backtrack from that and now deny that I was the driver? Forgive me if I have misunderstood or made some fatal assumptions.

You can't do AOS until a claim form arrives, and it seems you are at LBC stage.

Erm, what? I didnt tell you to deny being the driver. At all. We dont tell people to do that where they were teh driver. Noone lies. Of course you cant backtrack and undo something youve said, if what you initiailly said was the truth

When you say "complaint", to whom? Uni? Gladstones? WHO!? Be precise.

I said to DENY THE DEBT to Gladstones. That means you DENY THE DEBT EXISTS. Nothing more, nothing less. It never, ever has to involve the drivers identity.

Apologies, when you stated "post 2" I assumed you meant post 2 of the Newbie thread and not post 2 of my response. I could not find any reference to denying the debt in post 2 of that thread, and "deny" only exists as a word within post 1, therefore I wrongly associated your comment to the template in post 1. Hope that clears up the confusion.

I will definitely follow up and add the denial of the debt to Gladstones. I have not yet found an existing template for this so will assume that I can keep it succinct as a one liner to them in response to their refusal.

The complaint was to the University, I will make sure to mention it in each post for clarity.

Related to the earlier misunderstanding, will follow this up. Thanks.

For info, the charge is now £140 (originally £40).
They can't do that. Read CEC16's thread.

Can you get any current student to take a photo or two of the signs?

It will help you when the claim arrives, to know what the signs say and if the charge or the fake add-on are in large lettering (or not there as a £sum at all!).

I was able to find some existing photos online from 2017. I highly doubt the signs have changed since and they look the same as when I was there, but I will just go myself and take new ones just in case. It is only 10 minutes away from me so no issue, I'll be sure to get dropped off :rotfl:

I arrived at 15:51, and was entitled to park there for free from 17:00 anyway so a total relevant stay of 69 minutes. This at most would be £20 for unauthorised parking according to their sign, but allowing for 10 minutes leeway either side it would be 59 minutes resulting in £10 maximum?
