I bought some from Ebay last year as I couldn't find any anywhere else. This year I've been given some of the Phoenix Trading ones as I hosted a party, they are quite pricey but really unusual (with printed patterns rather than single colours).0

I got some really pretty ones from a Phoenix cards party with little angels printed on. Then went into Hobbycraft the other day and they had packs of them for 99p, but had 50% discount applied at the till!0

I'm making them in school this week with my class of 30. We're improvising - cutting coloured, very thin card/paper into strips to form chains. Poundland in midlands were selling packs of thin card recently but not sure if they still are - 25 in a pack, which would give you lots of strips.

I was going to say about using old magazines & catalogues too!
I was a pre-school supervisor in a previous life & we found that the 'lick & stick' were more 'wet & break' after litle ones had got at them! So we used glue sticks instead, & mopped up the excess glue with glitter mixed with dyed sawdust & rice.
You can dye pasta, rice, & sawdust with food colouring mixed into some water, & dry it out on baking sheets at the bottom of the oven after cooking or in the airing cupboard...that sort of thing. It's also something else you can do with the littlies....Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.
