Christmas paper chains

Hi!
Would like to make these with the kids this year, thought about buying some wrapping paper and cutting it into strips but think it will be too thin for 4 year olds (will get ripped, me thinks!)
Has anyone seen packs that you can buy? Saw some in Tesco but not alot in a pack. Also seen them via pheonix trading but a bit expensive for me.
Thanks

They have them in Hawkins Bazaar, not sure of the price though. Also, they usually sell them in The Works, in nice metallic colours.0

first thought: Wilkinsons. I'm just back from wandering around Manchester Arndale Shopping center as well, looking for arty stuff for christmas cards, and they had some kids stuff in Partners (stationers) and The Works too.
i seem to remember as a kid buying these packs of paper that had gummy backs, so you could lick the back of them to stick together when making the chains. Without that, you'd have to use glue/sellotape to stick each chain together and that could get to be a pain.
other places that might do em: post offices (not big ones, little branches that like to sell the add on stuff), poundshops.
good luck with it!

I usually buy them in Early Learning Centre. They are cheap and cheerful and a couple of packs makes loads.A dog is for life not just for Christmas.
How about a rescue dog?0 -
We use the colourful pages of Xmas toy and gift flyers/magazines, cut into strips. They look very effective.I like to live in cloud cuckoo land :hello:0
