The 'two seat rows' at the back of the plane have been prebooked long ago (we booked our trip in May and these have been reserved already).

Another question - how early can you usually check-in? We will be coming to the airport at about lunchtime and flying only at 9pm, any chance they would let us to check in? (We want to go to london for a day..)

As Air NZ also have a 14.25 flight, there is every chance they will let you check in early as the desk will be open.

However, at check-in, do double check those seats as sometimes the ones at the back do not go back (have a look at Seat Guru).

I am sorry, what do you mean saying 'do not go back'? Row 63 is in the back of the plane (68 is the lat one). I know that the seats might be changed, but hopefully to better ones...

I have just tried to check the flight and it would show me the flight at all if I choose more than 1 passenger. For 1 person it offers seat in economy and seat in premium economy. So, it looks like the flight is going to be full - little chance to have the seat next to us free.

If you are flying over xmas with virgin, check your flights as I have a friend who works for virgin and there is rumour they are going on strike very soon.
