When should I give notice?

My phone contract is with EE and I also have a tablet with them on my account on a contract.

This is coming to an end, it says standard upgrade is from 5th Dec 2019, so when is the best time to tell them I don't want to renew the contract for the tablet? Would today be best since its one month until 5th Dec?

I don't need the tablet on a plan or even a sim only plan because I can use it with my WIFI, so just need to end the tablet contract completely.

Yes now, thirty days' notice. (If Dec 5 is the end of your contract's minimum term, regardless of 'upgrades'.)

Unless the "standard upgrade" is before the last 30 days of the minimum term. The latter is key, the upgrade date is irrelevant.
  • It’s the same date, I checked on my online account, I’ll give them a call today.
