There are very few times when a "Dear John" letter is acceptable, and usually I'd say a "Dear John" text was beyond the pale, but in this case I'd say a "Dear John" text or email was absolutely fine and dandy!

I would never have agreed to see you regularly if I had realised you were committed elsewhere, and I do not to be responsible for any further damage to your relationship with Lily and L'il Scrap.
