Dwp we're reviewing your benefits and circumstances interview

Options
Hi all,

I received a letter from Dwp over the weekend stating we are reviewing your benefit and circumstances. We need to talk to you about some changes that may affect your benefit payments. And the date of the interview along with documents I need to bring. Signed by the compliance officer.

I have rang this morning as I am mega anxious and could not bare to wait two weeks to know.. Apparently its a housing benefit query, she wouldn't tell me anymore. I asked if it was something I needed to be worried about (trying to calm my anxiety) and she said she didn't know, so maybe she not looked into yet as it's two weeks away! I always forward everything to housing benefit as they can be very aukward. So they receive my payslips if they want them and often ask for bank statements. I have had a few changes recently regarding to childcare, I've been off sick at work so they have been receiving my payslips, also my daughter recently started receiving dla so I've had extra money from that and from tax credits, all of this I have informed them about. I've been through my statements to see if anything has flagged up as income to them from the statements I've sent and I cannot see nothing. I have had extra money from tax credits in a sum of like £700 this was for dla for my daughter which was backdated, but I believe they see all the payments I get from them anyway.
Living arrangements I am as I have declared it is just me and my two kids.
Any other ideas what it could be? I know it's housing benefit but it's really confusing me.
Am I allowed to contact housing benefit and ask?
Also to add its not under caution or it isn't according to the letter.

Thank you in advance for any advice.

Gather together all the information you have been asked to provide. If your claim is in order the appointment will allow the DWP to confirm this. If any errors have occurred they can be corrected. Although the letter comes from a Compliance officer it doesn't mean that you have done anything wrong.

If you have payslips that are sitting at work I recommend that you get hold of these before the appointment so that you have them available.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.
  • If you have always kept them upto date with any changes I really would worry too much, as calcotti says use the two weeks to get everything they have asked for organised.
  • Thank u for your replies. I will defo make sure I have copies of what they need that's no hassle at all. I just hate not knowing. I keep telling myself I have not done anything wrong but instantly feel horrific and worried its horrible..
The lady wasn't the nicest on the phone either. Which didn't help but I imagine she is overworked and gets calls like this all the time.
