Apple Watch data plan?

Sorry to ask but this info must be well hidden on mobile phone sites?

Bought myself an Apple iwatch with GPS & Cellular/WiFi and need to move from Plusnet who do not support this watch, trying to find a good deal on vodafone, EE or O2 as these seem to be the only providers of Cellular/ WiFi on iwatches?

Looking at a Vodafone 20gb sim only deal on a third party site I rarely use my mobile so is this enough data or would unlimited be better at £4 monthly extra?

And would I just phone Vodafone and get them to link my Iphone to the iwatch which is unlocked?

Thanks for any help.

You would need to add a watch plan to your account, it used to be £5 a month to do, but iirc it's now £7 a month.

    Edit

A quick google finds the Vodafone page, it is now £7 a month to add a watch.
Looking to add cellular to your Apple Watch?

If you’ve already got Apple Watch Series 3, 4 or 5 and want to add cellular connectivity (4G), you can do this for just £7 a month.

Simply add your Apple Watch to your existing Vodafone iPhone Pay monthly plan (compatible iPhone needed).

Chat to us online today and we’ll do this for you.

    Same for EE
However, if you’ve bought your Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + 4G) from another retailer and want to buy an EE data plan, you’ll need to pair your Apple Watch with the EE network on your iPhone first.

To set up a data plan, just use the Apple Watch Series 3 app. You’ll need your EE login details, or you can register for an EE account today.

The time it takes for the watch to sync can vary depending on what data you have. Make sure your iPhone and Apple Watch are kept close together throughout the process. You’ll hear a chime and feel a gentle tap from your Apple Watch when it’s ready to use.

Once you're connected you can add a 30-day smartwatch plan, which you can buy through the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. It’s free for three months with unlimited data, then 10GB a month for £7 a month.

    O2 still show as £5 a month
Introductory Airtime Offer: Watch Airtime Plan £0 for 6 months only, then £5 + RPI. Offer limited to one per unique Watch and iPhone pairing. Ends 18 Dec 2019.

As far as I am aware it uses you existing O2 data from your phone.

my son is with o2 and he can us his phone data only if the watch is near to it but if its not he gets unlimited data from the watch plane.
So like a couple of days ago he left his phone at home but i could still contact him through his watch data.
