I wouldn't be getting hung up on the levels that RICS define for basic normal modern properties. I'd be getting a heritage-specialist builder to have a good look round, and tell me what he thought.I think if I was looking at an 1850's property, i'd be looking at doing a full structural survey for the extra cost, than a basic homebuyers survey.0 -
I am either going for the structural engineer report, or walking away. I have a mortgage offer which is valid for 6 months - can I use this offer for a different property , as long as property is of less or equal value (I understand I will have to pay for new valuation )0
