Good morning everyone, sorry I’ve not been around for a bit but life took over somewhat.  I potted £13 yesterday from a purse empty.  I might just squeeze a tiny bit more by next Thursday!  I have my bags I collected from the post office a few weeks ago and I’m raring to go 😁. Been in discussions with my son’s school over the last week and had a very long chat with his teacher so now I know what he should be learning.  He’s behind due to his learning difficulties; he’s adopted and there was alcohol during pregnancy which the effects are now showing.  I have also arranged with the headmaster to borrow a Chromebook every weekend and during the holidays as I complained about the fact they expect 7 year olds to practice spellings and maths and to do homework on a pc which I don’t have.  We brought one home last night for half term and he sat playing a number bonds to 10 game and kept getting 20/20 in the time limit 🥳. He has also found enthusiasm for his reading practice too so long may it last.  Since September he has had a dedicated teaching assistant working with him for numeracy and literacy which is definately helping.  Also the “bad influence” child in his class has been off recently and we have all noticed a difference (3 star of the day stickers and a homework hero certificate).  My son is no angel but he is easily influenced so we have had some chats about how good it feels to get the praise.  I really hope we might have turned a corner and it looks like buying a Chromebook will be added to the list of things to save for, until then he’ll get an ice cream bought today 🥰

Hi Hetty, sorry to hear about the problems you've been having, but hopefully with you as being a Mum who cares such a great deal for her little lad, you'll win through; in fact it sounds as though you're already doing so, excellent work for you, your Son and the school!! 😃

As long as you all keep caring, he'll know the care and the love is there for him, and respond, as it sounds as though he's already doing!

Let's hope the "bad influence" child stays away a little longer, that really is the last thing your little treasure needs. :/For now though, you're little darling clearly loves ice cream so at least that's a great influence on yours, and his behalf!

A rather scrumptious £70 in the pot yesterday as we put a few bits in a auction two weeks ago which sold and the cheque dropped through the door yesterday 'YAY!'
Also DH and DS popped off to the pub and came back with 2 x £2 coins and 4 x £1 coins

I am still here!!! is it really time to open the pots and count up? Not put many coins in the pot for a while now, can I ask what else can we count we we do the adding up? Do EBay sales count, or is it just money in the jars?

Yes, Blythe, you can count ebay sales.  Most of my savings this time are from sales as I haven't been shopping with cash for yonks.

I used to be a member on the board years ago (different name as couldn't ever remember my old email address or username)... but I've always done sealed pot challenge every year and have done this year. Would I be able to open mine with you all this year? Doesnt need documenting but I forgot how exciting it is being part of the group doing it! 😊
If not, no worries i'll definitely tag on next year!

Hi BlytheDoll, and good to see you. 😃 Many of us haven't put cash in our pots since the start of Covid 19 😟, so it's not just you. As little_sweetie has correctly already told you, any sales via Eb!y or anywhere similar is perfectly ok. 

Thanks so very much for helping BlytheDoll out, little_sweetie. 🤩😍 😃 T still hasn't used cash, it's cards or nothing. I miss putting the cash in our pots, but not that much that I'm prepared to take risks. No, not long to go at all. 😉
