It feels weird, but I don't really want to buy anything toiletries or skincare wise on Black Friday. I might only make a small skincare order for myself on BF but that's because it's the same day as I get paid and I've had a crap couple of weeks. My stash is getting smaller and smaller, currently on 74 items, the lowest its been in a long time! And I'm enjoying seeing it getting smaller and smaller and knowing what works for me. And a lot of Black Friday deals aren't amazing deals, some I've seen are like 20% off. Which is not an amazing deal.0

With skincare I am at the point now where I get to start using it pretty quickly after buying rather than storing it for an age first. I am a long way off with shower gel and body lotion/butter but they are not as much of an issue as the things you put on your face.
I have a stash of skincare at the moment as a result of buying Lacura Specialbuys when available.
I am nearly at the point though where all my full sized nail colours fit in one box and another box that I store back up makeup in will be empty. At the moment it houses a deluxe sized liquid highlighter which I’ll use as primer next and the last of my mascara wardrobe which I’m going to open today as my Sephora one has dried up.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

I've gone through my stash and put stickers on each item, dating when I bought it. As I mainly buy online, getting the dates wasn't that hard.
Anything I couldn't get a date for, I am assuming is older stuff and must be used first.
Then I will use things up, oldest to newest.
If I am tempted to buy anything new, then knowing that I can't touch it until everything else is used up is a real incentive not to buy it!!Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without0 -

Blistex Lip Brilliance - nice pink colour with a subtle shimmer but it wears off quickly so I had to apply it a lot, that said it is quite a hard balm so it still lasted forever. WNBA.
Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey - this is a really nice sheer colour but it is a tall thin lipstick and very soft which made it bendy and messy. WNBADebt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

What are your tactics for avoidance in the upcoming sales?
I know some expensive things I want to try will be reduced. But I know I have several months of skincare left-possibly a year given how much I forget to do my routine. I'm sure there will be other sales in the year. But I usually buy a ton of toiletries in January or in Christmas deals.
I know it's sensible to stock up on HG products but this year I know I have products to last almost through the year. Except hair care.
I am fighting this at the moment . . . I remember how far I have come to get to the position I am in and I now have a really good idea of how long stuff takes to use up. Although I would love that blusher, I have at least 4 years worth of blusher so probably by the time I get to it I'll have lost interest. I'd rather research super-carefully once I am on the verge of running out of something, and maybe spend a little more, than get "a bargain" that I would not otherwise have bought that will likely have lost its excitement by the time I am through the rest of the stash.
UU - Crabtree & Evelyn Rosewater handcream. Lovely smell but not very moisturising.0 -
Some INs to declare, they were not all necessary but I am working on being a lot more selective and not just buying deals because they're deals! I am very much over Black Friday already, considering some sales started over a week ago!

Ginger an Co Heavenly hands hand wash. HG WDBA 2 more bottles in stash.
Bodyshop peppermint bubble bath from last Christmas. Wouldn't buy but would use if gifted.
No7 Advance techniques day cream (will definitely finish tomorrow.) This has been a cut tube for two or three weeks as I don't use day cream as much as night. I have 3 25ml tubes left and I am so bored of this. It's slightly shiny and smells of sun cream. It does a good job but it's a lesson in not overstocking in sales. I have a couple of day creams coming in my advent calendar so I might alternate through the year for a break.
I finished lots of things this month and some that weren't on my list.
I'm not panning my makeup but I am trying to make sure that I use it a couple of times a week. Some things I put on my list and didn't touch: I used Philosophy perfume instead of the Rose one and didn't touch the bodyshop face mask.0 -

Sanctuary Green Lemon & Orange Blossom Shower Gel 250ml - nice scent but not super bubbly, nothing special on the whole - WNBA
Sanctuary Green Lemon & Orange Blossom Body Lotion 250ml - again nice scent but not moisturising at all and far to thick to be in a rigid plastic bottle - WNBA.
I was going through my lipsticks to find a replacement for the Clinique one I finished yesterday and I found another one of those in a generous GWP size - oh well, it can stay there for a bit whilst I have a change.
Bought DD some birthday gifts from Blushberry Botanicals, they are all handmade in small batches in Scotland and are zero waste, they came yesterday and are gorgeous, I am keen to try some things myself when I actually need to buy.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
