You never know, Jeremy may win!!“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and who weren't so lazy.”0

If housing was affordable homelessness would have really come down.
I think your joking but homelessness isn't a huge function of house prices it's about addictions and dysfunctional people and families
We had plenty homelessness in 1995 when today's £1m hackney homes were £100k0 -

Well of course because the vast majority of homeless people have a steady job and a large cash deposit in the bank, and are just waiting for prices to drop so they can finally buy that semi in Suburbia... or maybe not?Every generation blames the one before...

Seriously? It would crash the country.
Don't forget he intends to remove all the restrictions on the unions.
Back to the 70s we go. Flying pickets, everyone striking, rubbish piled high in the streets, 3 day week not because it is wanted but because there is not enough power because of strikes, constant power cuts due to strikes, sitting around a stinky candle with no heat because of strikes, you can't get to work anyway unless you have a car (which Corbyn wants to take off the road anyway) because the railways are on strike.
When we say the 70s were bad because of the unions we are not exaggerating.
The worst thing is a parliamentary term is 5 years, by then we would probably have brought in a law to say elections were not necessary, bearing in mind it is momentum and McDonnell at the helm, not Corbyn anymore. He is the figurehead. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Brexit will crash the country harder, seriously & be harder to undo.
The main problem with the 70's was the government trying to rescue industry, a lot of people voted to leave the EU so we could do that again.0 -

I do not know for sure but I would imagine you are considerably younger than me.
The main problem with the 70s was the unions. They wrecked the country. The fire service was on strike, there was no funerals as the gravediggers were on strike, on top of the miners and the dustmen, and when the labour pm came back from his political jolly in the west indies he claimed there was no crisis.
It was not called the winter of discontent for nothing.
It took many years to sort that out and get the unions on a leash. And you want to undo all that work!
And the very fact that Corbyn has stated he would not press the button would make us very vulnerable. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

You can imagine whatever you think will make your argument appear stronger.Enterprise_1701C wrote: »And you want to undo all that work!
Says the leave voter who wants to undo all the work?
You can demonize the unions, but they were reacting to the economy at large & weren't the cause. It won't be any better re-running the 70's without the unions, like the leavers want to do.0 -

I would remind you that I actually voted remain in the hope that things could change. They have proved they do not intend to change so now yes, I would vote leave if there was another chance. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
