Dry water mark

I have a mysterious brown water mark on my living room ceiling. It is drectly underneath the bathroom, however it is bone dry.
I've checked around the sink, toilet and under the bath and all seems as normal.
I've ran the bath, flushed the loo and ran the sink taps and still the mark remains perfectly dry. It doesn't seem to have become wet or spread since I noticed it a couple weeks ago.
Any ideas?

Any kids in the house?
I have one from my 11 year old having a bath and deciding to create his very own wave machine.
Water came over the top in large quantities, ran along the flooring, under the skirting and into the void and ran along the ceiling below creating a long stain. It's now bone dry.
He's now restricted to showers!0 -
Prob a silly question but have you checked the overflow on your bath is attached to the waste pipe? Ours wasn't in a previous property and we had no idea until we accessed under the bath for something else. It only ever would have overflowed when my OH had a bath as I don't have mine that deep.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

You started a thread on this subject two weeks ago.A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".0
