Water mark on ceiling?

I’ve found what appears to be a water mark on our living room ceiling. It’s beneath the bathroom but it doesn’t feel wet to touch. I’ve looked under the bath, around the sink and toilet and can’t see any immediate signs of a leak.
We’ve checked the stain after a bath, after flushing the loo and using the sink and it remains dry. Have currently drawn round it in pencil to see if it grows (hasn’t as of yet).
Any advice please? Hope the link for an image works:

It’s a water mark, and if it’s the bathroom above it’s 99% certain that’s where it’s from. Maybe a weeping pipe.0

Water can travel a long way horizontally so, while it is very likely that the bathroom above is the culprit, don't ignore other possible sources of a leak.A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".0 -
What's my best bet? Get someone out ASAP to find the source and fix it?0

Do you know how quickly it appeared? If you have only just noticed it and it's quite large, it could be due to a single event. Have you had any teenagers visiting recently? I had an interesting "event" when hosting a family a few years back. Teenage son spending an hour in the shower every day, and the bathroom floor like a tropical rainforest after he got out. Luckily, my bathroom was on the ground floor in that house ...
[My point is that you could end up coughing up cash to look into an ongoing problem that doesn't exist ... good idea to draw a circle around the patch).(Nearly) dunroving0 -
I only just noticed it a couple of days ago, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there before that... I was away at the weekend so nothing crazy going on at home!!
I'm worried it's a burst/dripping pipe under the bathroom tiles....0 -
Can you get the flooring up in the bathroom and try to find any signs of damp timbers?0

Have you checked the bath overflow?0

I can't get into the bathroom flooring as it's tiled down
I've checked under the bath panel and all looks bone dry.0 -
Oh sorry. No I've not tried that, but will give it a go. Wouldn't usually expect much water to make it's way in there from the shower/shallow baths though?0
