Even if we don't consider counterfeits and incorrect change given then cash does still fail a lot. It often get's lost which is a big failure of cash and it can be stolen by employees and other people easily without trace.
The sole purpose of a payment method is to use it to carry out transactions. So every time cash gets lots it has failed and this will have a much higher failure rate than card payments.0
