Buy an Engagement Ring

Don't buy new. Try and either find a second hand/antique one this will save you a fortune or alternatively buy a stone and have it set to what your girl desires.
Avoid high street like the plague, you will be able to find many small outlets in some of the places others have listed. Good luck.0 -
We went there yesterday and found a diamond which they are making up into a ring for me. For just a fraction more money, it is over 50% bigger and a better cut and quality than one quoted in a local high street chain.Make £2025 in 2025

Can you recommend any particular shops in the Quarter as I want to buy an engagement ring but the choice is huge!
Considering having it made from scratch and I want the stones to be certified (IGI/HRD/GIA) or equivalent.
Many thanks!0 -
Take a romantic break to Amsterdam (RyanAir or similar) and choose the diamond of your choice and have it made into a ring of your choice. Much cheaper and memorable. The ring will be made and sent on to you.Middlers0

Not really as there's too many - everytime I've bought from there its been a different shop. Best to talk and ask questions and go with the one you feel the most comfortable with.Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

My dad took my mum to Amsterdam a few years ago she came back with a huge solitaire diamond ring valued at about £4000 he paid just less than half price.
It has been valued at £4k+0 -
Buying online seems like too much of a risk, but have a look at diamondgeezer, got my engagement ring from them, cant compliment them too much...great customer service..i dealt with a lady called Hannah, she is absolutely great, I was VERY indecisive, but she has gone to great lengths to help me get the most perfect ring!! and OH paid half of what it is valued for
(waaaay less than high street prices) ** i didn't lose my mind, i sold it on ebay **0 -
I am thinking of asking my gf to marry me. We are going to Toronto in novermber so I have been looking to see if it would be cheaper to buy a ring over there. With the exchange rate it may be worth it.
Also if I get one over there she can pick the ring.
Anyone got any ideas if it will be worth doing? or Should I buy a ring here and take it with me?JeremyMarried 9th May 20090 -
