Is this a surprise engagement ring? If not, have you thought of asking her what she would like?

I'm not sure if this is the kind of thing you are looking for:
H Samuel solitaires circa £2,500
Ernest Jones solitaires circa £2,500
Diamond Geezer solitaires circa mega-bucks
On a more personal note..... my husband took me with him to choose my engagement ring. The memories of that day are still very special to me.

Guess I really ought to tell them that the woman from Delmonte said yes....
I (we) basically know what we want...it's just that I've got it in my head that I always ought to check on line first...0 -

I would be very reluctant to buy something like a diamond solitaire on-line, unless it was from a very reputable company that someone had personally recommended. Probably better to look locally and then try to knock them down in price.
I am assuming that you have done your research, but if not, it may be worth reading this diamond buyers guide

To echo spendaholic,
Congratulations!0 -
If your local to London try a visit to Hatton Garden - its an engagement ring hunters paradise

Alternatively try https://www.cooldiamonds.com whom are excellent.
A word of advice make a shortlist and go see them before you order! As I found myself rings can differ significantly from the photo's which meant I ended up going for one of the least favourites on my shortlist (by far the nicest one in the flesh).0 -
Read a leaflet recently stating that https://www.gems.tv were very good for discounting rings.More carat/good quality/valued at jewellers after receiving.
Unsure if they have what you require, but have a look.If I remember correctly they have a show on SKY as well.
Good Luck0 -
XBos it really would be worth your while making a trip to the jewellry quarter in Birmingham as you will get much much better value with your money than HSamuels etc. Plus theres loads more choice.
What you might pay £2k for on the High Street would probably cost £600 less there. My mum had a platinum gold ring from there for £800 that something similar was £1400 elsewhere.Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.
