Best way to switch from Vodafone to Vodafone

Hi all.
I've noticed that Mobiles.co.uk have a redemption offer on Vodafone's 12 month unlimited max with entertainment that brings the price down to £20pm.
I've currently with Vodafone and my minimum term ends on 2nd November.
I'm presuming the only way to get the deal from Mobiles.co.uk is to quickly switch my current plan over to another network (say GiffGaff) and then obtain another PAC from GiffGaff to switch back to this Vodafone deal.
Would that be about right?
Many thanks.

Would it not be far easier to phone Vodafone and say you have this deal as a new customer can you match it? If not, o2/3/EE (or whoever) can do this deal, can you match that instead?
Rather than faffing around switching for the sake of switching? Because you may find you're not a new customer until you've been away for anywhere between 6-24 months.0 -

This is only if Vodafone don't allow two contracts for the same customer that, most likely isn't the case. If so, you can get a new contract first, then perform porting as you described. This can be less cost-efficient than your original plan though.
Yes it looks like Vodafone now let you port your number in after the contract has started so it means I could order the deal now and do the switcheroo after that.0 -
So Vodafone definitely cannot match the deal offered by both mobiles.co.uk and fonehouse.co.uk.
Are there any issues with cash back redemption deals when you port in your existing phone number?
I seem to remember old cash back deals requiring the number on the bill to match the number the third party seller had (which wouldn’t be the number you actually wanted to keep).
Many thanks.0 -
I remember there was quite a few good deal during black friday.
If I am in your position, I would Port out to Giffgaff or Voxi for a month and check out the deal during black friday.0 -

Check the T&C but generally no, provided you update the dealer.0
