I had two bedrooms with cracks/blown plaster just like that in my last house. I figured it was due to either (a) poor workmanship by the plasterer (turned out the guy was dragging people from another business, and the job was rushed), or (b) the fact I was riding my bike trainer in the attic. ;-)(Nearly) dunroving0

We don't know how urgent the slate is because we can't see in your attic or onto your roof, but it's not something I'd leave long with winter approaching.first_time_buyer..... wrote: »thanks both
do you think its urgent to repair the slate on the roof? do you know if its expensive to ask someone to fill the gap and fix the roof?
As others have said, it looks like blown plaster, so if you are not disabled, filling the cracks is an easy enough job. (See you Tube) I'd only worry if they opened up again soon after being filled.0 -
than you
