Last summer, a slate fell off the roof and i didnt do anything about it. Recently, Ive noticed a big crack on my front room. It's the front corner of my house. Im not sure if its related to the slate falling off my roof. Not sure if it's a serious issue? Can someone please advise? Thanks

Unlikely to be related.
How big is this crack, where does it go from/to? Straight line or no?
Photographs will help.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Is the crack inside or outside? How wide is the crack? Long thin cracks in plaster are common.0

It looks as if there is supposed to be an image.

It looks like the plaster has blown on the wall where the crack returns on itself. How old is the house and the main plasterwork?
It could be some movement, but all houses move. What's happening on the outside of that corner? Anything interesting?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I have one or two like that. Tap the plaster either side, blown plaster sounds hollow. Probably just a crack, houses move and plaster cracks. Emulsion paint can be used to fill fine cracks, some Easyfill or similar fills larger cracks. I recently used some Wickes filler in a tube on small holes, very cheap and easy to sand.0

thanks both
do you think its urgent to repair the slate on the roof? do you know if its expensive to ask someone to fill the gap and fix the roof?

In my uneducated opinion repairing the roof is fairly urgent. You don’t want wet rot in rafters etc.0

Filling the cracks is a dead simple DIY job. You can do it for the cost of the filler and a bit of paint. Honestly.0
